You know what? Screw it. I shall use this posting system as my ideas list. I am tired of monotonous fixing process and I need some daydreaming.
While correcting the remaining variables I have realized that it would be so cool to add fully fledged computer system. You will be able to build yourself a PC but with many caveats.
First of all, many components will be faulty because of the serious levels of radiation everywhere. You will be able to test the components using super cool tester before installing them into your PC and permanently breaking them upon turn on. If the component is faulty but not absolutely mangled, you will be able to fix it using boiling oil bath with coal dust and carbonated mineral water. It will remove the radioactive particles and make the components finally usable. Better components will require more expensive solutions because of their complexity level. Not the hard drives though. Every single hard drive in the game will be permanently destroyed beyond any repair.
Imagine you have finally fixed every component you had. Now you need to put everything together, thus you have entered the second level of insanity. The radiation, polution and other manmade inconviniences are everywhere, you need to protect your internals from them. The regular PC case will grant you 10% of protection. It will probably be fine, as long as you don't do any serious and important tasks. The universe will know when you don't want the PC to self-destruct, thus the chance of damage is higher based on task importance. While you download some pictures for your "collection", the chance of damage is much higher than just on idle because of that "importance" variable. You will lose all of the progress, but the damaged component won't be destroyed, you'll still be able to fix it.
There are protective cases, DIY, consumer grade, mil grade, prototypes and [REDACTED]. They will decrease the chance of sudden damage and keep your pictures safe. While making your own protective case, you will be able to utilize many materials and techniques. With the right combination you might even create the case with 99.8% of protection, which will make it even more painful to encounter failure.
That is, given that you managed to install the operating system. This process will have 100 of task importance, and you better prepare for it, because the maximum level of this variable will ignore the case protection if it's below 75% and make the radiation at least 5 times more powerful. It will grant 1 in 10 chance of failure every 10 seconds. And who knows how much time it will take to install the OS.
Worry not! The chance of the correct install will not be only dependant on RNG. Every player will have OS skill, that will increase the change of successfull install. With high level, you might even open your own business which specifies on installing operating systems on user's storage devices. If I will detect too much devices with installed OS, I will manually debuff the system to make it even more painful.
The last (???) adversary is the viruses. At some point in time, this fictional planet's orbit was filled with harmful satelite transmitters, which are still operate by this day. They will send unbenevolent software to people's computer and make many sorts of damage. The worst virus is "Demoman V4", which will straight up make your PC explode, harming you and potentially destroying your house. The chance of catching it is miniscule though and it requires serious negligence on user's part. Just pray they won't releaze the V5 version of that virus.
Quite a ride, isn't it? Just wait for me gaining compenence and patience to make all of it a reality! And fixing my absolute stupid mistakes. And adding fishing.
